Job Description

Position Summary:

  1. Under the general supervision of the Supervisor Regional Parks, the Tour Guide/Small Ride Operator is responsible for operating small amusement rides and accepting payment for amusement rides, Wildlife Park admissions, season passes, and souvenirs.
  2. Major responsibilities:
  3. Carries out pre-inspection duties of amusement device before operating each day.
  4. Operates the amusement device safely without supervision.
  5. Loads and unloads passengers to and from amusement device safely.
  6. Collects revenues from the sale of admissions, season passes, souvenirs, and amusement ride tickets.
  7. Performs and completes daily cash summary forms and transmittal slips.
  8. Records and maintains daily park user statistics.
  9. Performs guided Wildlife Park tours for schools, groups, and visitors.
  10. Maintains good public relations for the users of the Wildlife and amusement parks.
  11. Carries out his or her responsibilities without supervision.
  12. Performs other duties as may be assigned.

 

Qualifications:

 

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum age of 16.
  • Must be honest, courteous, responsible, and enthusiastic.
  • Must be enrolled in a post-secondary program at a college or university.

 

Assets:

  • Strong public relations skills and cash handling experience would be an asset.
  • A certificate in Standard First Aid and CPR would be an asset.

 

Conditions of Employment:

  • Will be required to work irregular hours, weekends and holidays.
