    Job Description

    Position Summary:

     

    Under the general supervision of the Coordinator – Conventions & Visitor Services, and the technical direction of the Senior Travel Counsellor, provides information on the City to visitors in a tactful and courteous manner.

     

    Major Responsibilities:

    1. Provides information relating to the city
    2. Processes the tourist mail
    3. Prepares bulk information kits and individual VIP kits as required
    4. Records bulk literature upon arrival and advises supervisor of same
    5. Records and registers visitors on a daily and monthly registration form
    6. Performs good housekeeping practices in Centre and storage areas
    7. Maintains daily inventory of brochures pertaining to Thunder Bay
    8. Performs such other related duties as may be assigned

     

    Qualifications:

     

    Education/Experience:

    • Must be a student registered with a college or university and must be returning to school in the fall

     

    Skills & Abilities:

    • Must be able to work with minimal supervision
    • Must be highly motivated and be able to work well in a team environment
    • Ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing
    • Superior customer service skills and ability to deal with the public and staff in a courteous and tactful manner
    • Proficient in the use of computers and current related software (Word, Excel)
