    Job Description

    Position Summary:

    Under the direction of the Supervisor is responsible for assisting crews during general operation.

     

    Major Responsibilities:

    1. Assisting crews during general operation
    2. Conducting clean-up duties
    3. Restocks trucks
    4. Assists with the installation of underground plant

    Qualifications:

     

    Education/Experience:

    • Enrolment in a post-secondary electrical discipline; or
    • Secondary school education together with proven knowledge of basic electrical theory

    Skills & Abilities:

    • Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
    • Must be highly motivated and work well in a team environment
    • Must be able to work with minimal supervision
    • Superior customer service skills and ability to deal with the public in a courteous and tactful manner
    • Must be able to communicate effectively with other Civic departments and suppliers
    • Must possess and maintain a valid Class “G” Ontario Drivers Licence, or equivalent
    • Must meet the definition of a competent driver as defined by the Corporation

    Conditions of Employment:

    • Must remain a competent driver as defined by the Corporation
    • May be required to provide a successful driver’s abstract
    • After training, must be able to operate a one ton truck, asphalt cutter and ditch whitch

    Physical Demands:

    This position requires constant standing/walking; frequent squatting/kneeling, and lifting up to and including 20kg
