Job Description

Position Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Project Manager and the technical direction and guidance of the Information & Marketing Officer, is responsible for providing support related to economic development.


Major responsibilities:

  1. Assists with tracking of communication, analyzes media value related to CEDC media releases and articles.
  2. Develops social media content annual calendars.
  3. Creates content to support CEDC marketing campaigns and initiatives.
  4. Monitors CEDC social media pages and platforms.
  5. Responds to inquiries.
  6. Schedules social media content.
  7. Attends community and media events.
  8. Updates and maintains current media contacts list.
  9. Monitors and maintains CEDC marketing tools.
  10. Performs such other related duties as may be required.




  • Currently in a post-secondary diploma or degree program in communications, or marketing


Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Strong writing and editing skills, on-line communications expertise, and an understanding of effective graphic design
  • Proven organizational and event planning skills
  • Ability to work to deadlines and handle multiple projects
  • Photography and video skills are an asset
  • Must be highly motivated, work well in a team environment
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision
  • Must be proficient in the use of computers and current related software and digital media platforms (Word, Excel, etc.) - Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.
  • Must be able to deal with the public in a courteous and tactful manner
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Class “G” Ontario Driver’s Licence, or equivalent
  • Must meet the definition of a competent driver as defined by the Corporation

Conditions of Employment:

  • Must remain a competent driver as defined by the Corporation
  • May be required to provide a successful driver’s abstract
