The Opportunity

As an Equipment Operator IV, you will operate sanitation trucks and provide curbside collection services.

 

This role reports to the Supervisor Solid Waste Collection with the following accountabilities:

  • Operate sanitation trucks, pick up and load solid waste, refuse and litter.
  • Issue garbage collection notices to residents not conforming to Solid Waste Collection by-laws.
  • Checks and carries out minor servicing of equipment being operated.

Ideal Candidate

  • Must be proficient in operating trucks with a G.V.W. rating of 11,000 kgs and up.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Class “D” Ontario Drivers Licence, or equivalent with a ‘Z’ endorsement.
  • Must be reliable and able to understand, read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Must be physically capable of performing manual labouring duties consisting of lifting 40 pounds or less repeatedly and be tactful and courteous.
